Meet Leira Mickenzy Baines!

We adopted a Sphynx cat Satuday! After having done a lot of research on them we decided we would keep an eye out for one. That morning we went to a CFA cat show in Salt Lake and saw one in person and talked to the shower for a bit. Then went to the shelter we knew one was being kept and played with her for a bit. She climbed right up on our shoulders, fell asleep in my lap and was just a doll. So we brought her home. She is really amazingly trained (thats why we wanted an adult cat instead of a kiten) She already uses the litter box with no acidents, and uses the scratching post-I have yet to see her scratch on anything else.
Sphynx are hairless-or peach fuz- but still require some care. She has to have a bath and have her ears cleaned out because of oil build up. Other cats have the same oils, their hair just soaks it up. Her's doesnt so dirt clings if she isn't bathed. The place we got her from was not the best place. Talking to the young worker she didnt know much about the breed even though she said she had one at home. We knew more just from the internet. So we really felt like this cat deserved better than running around a shelter. (all their cats were just running around free and the place was dirty) She has a bit of a cold but I think she's getting better b/c she hasnt sneezed today though she was yesturday. This breed is still concidered rare so we are blessed to have found her.
